This lawn art site really confused me at first, but then i wated and it chaged to the homepage...i dunno if that wsa supposed to happen, but it did. The images are kinda blurry, and with all of the organic shapes it is kinda confusing and the layout is lost. I get that it was supposed to just be different than most sites, but its kinda not as functional as most.

This lawn art is very GREEN! i like the payout, the only thing that really bothers me is the color green chosen for the area around the site, it kinda clashed with the grass. But besides that...it is simple and easy to use. The navigation works, and is there on every page to use and to guide you! The images are stong and work well. The site could be a little more exciting, but it gets the job done!

This lawn art sire is simple and has really good images. The navigation buttons work well and are easy to spot and use. The only real negative i can find about it is the font used for the quotes, it is kind of hard to read. But i like the heading for each page, it is bold and strong!

USI Web Site

The main page is simple and concise. It uses colors well since they are the USI colors. Navigation is easy. You can obviously see right where the navigation buttons are. The drop down menus work really well. The pictures arent bad. I really like the changing pictures at the top. They are laid out well and usually interesting. I think we could use more intersting things to offer, but that is more with the universit as a whole. But we should try to show more student orginazations as being really important, and things that would get prospective students excited. I think the mix of serious and entertainment is good, but as a student, more entertainment is always nice. Parents will like the acedemic side, but we want fun.
Personally I think if anything needs work it is the myUSI. I know they just redid it, but its so boring. Make me excited that I attend here!!

The backgroud offers a graphic so it isnt so plain. It is also laid out really well. They also offer more interesting links sich as Arts & Diversity and Sports.

MY lawn art

I took an approach that most people didnt, I wanted it to be playful. I tried to make it look bright and cheery. I kept the same layout throughout and just tweeked colors and placing. I took pictures and then edited some of them in photoshop to make them more interesting and to allow some to fit well together. For example teh knome in the garden..wasnt really there! ha creative riiiight?? To return home on the 2nd tier pages to click in the middle of the flower, I realize noe that i should have included navigation buttons on all pages.

ha. just kidding. I like the background image and the font of the big words. The info is kinda boring looking, but then again, its info..so it cant be that cool. but maybe if it was on like some kind of layer thingy that jumped out. I like the overall feel of the page, it is very art-club-esque. yay. good job.

I like the simplicity of this page. It is clean and well organized. I tend to be a more complex person, and it takes a lot to get my attention, so personally that would be a flaw for me. But that doesnt mean that is bad, im just picky. The pictures are good quality and the information is good. It isnt really laid out like a website would be, but that isnt really necessary. It is simple and clean and gets the point across.

I really like the graphics and the feeling of the page as a whole. The grungy colors contrasted with the bright blue looks really good. The only graphic part that kinda bothers me is the T on ART because about half of it is cut off. I like the area where the information is displayed because it is simple and easy to read. If anything, for the info i would maybe center align the text instead of left align it.

why i did it.

To me art club is supposed to be fun, and exciting and a chance to do things and meet people that you wouldnt normally meet, or become close to. It is fun, and random, which is why i used the different types of letters for the main heading on my page. They are all semi-artistic and show different ways of creating art and type. The corn in the bottom right hand corner is used to balance the heavy title area, but also I used it because, well, the CORN BOOTH!! ha If your not in art club then you wouldnt know how awesome the corn booth is, so I had to incorporate it somehow.

The background is textures but simple because i didnt want it to be too busy, but i also didnt want it to be boring. And the stroke behind the text is supposed to look like a paint thingy. The 3 things on the right side are meant to be as if this was a working site, and you could click on them and then see all the cool and awesome things we do in art club.
